Garrigues made the decision to close its Bucharest office
to focus on Warsaw, while relatively new boutique firms
such as Czyzewscy Law Firm and Kancelaria Adwokacka
Marcina Radwan-Rohrenschefa, have sprung up.
The market has seen some considerable movement in
the recent months, such as Clifford Chance losing much
of its real estate team to Salans, which in turn saw regional heavyweight Marek Grodek and three lawyers depart
for Dewey & LeBoeuf Grzesiak. Kaniasty remains sanguine
about the departures. ‘The legal market moves quickly’ he
says. ‘When whole departments are moving, it’s a sign
that the market is strong because it’s an expensive thing
to do. People are confident about getting work’.
